Comedy, standing up.

My husband (!) uploaded this video of my last standup show to YouTube. It was shot by an awesome local comic and videographer named Shahryar Rivzi. He also sent me a second copy of the dvd after we inexplicably lost the first copy somewhere in New Jersey, which was swell of him. If you're local and you want to contact Sharyar (pronounced Shah-ree-are) to make a dvd of your audition or anything else, his stand up website is R1i.com and his creative solutions website (what he does all his
videography etc. under) is R1C.com. So you can check out either of those websites, or drop him a line at his first name at either of the domains. Kay? K.

We had a lot of fun the night this was shot; it was a really great lineup and our friends Jordan and Michele were able to get a babysitter for a night out drinking away from their twins for the first time in a loooooong time, so we got to hang with them. I hope you know that I am very self-conscious about having this video of myself out on the internet (have you HEARD some of the freaks on YouTube??!!?) but for you people, I give and I give. And Auntie Jan, if you need instructions on how to use the video, call Claude; he's standing by.)

Anne Colwell:

Jessica,
You are fantastic! I laughed so loud people in other offices came in to see what was going on!

Rene:

BRILLIANT...BLOODY BRILLIANT!

Auntie Patti:

Oh Jessica, I laughed my ass off! You are awesome, and you haven't even been at it that long, and with our family, you have tons of fodder...and....I am so JEALOUS of you! I WANT TO BE A STAND-UP COMIC! Love you bunches! Auntie P

Auntie Janice:

OMG!!! You are a star! I knew it when you were 10 years old standing in the kitchen of our ski house in Bethel in the middle of a crowd of adults telling that Bubba and Earl joke..."that dog would bite you..." with everyone laughing their asses off and saying, "This kid has to become a stand up comic", I knew it then, I frickin' knew it!! You need to be on Jay Leno or David Letterman, or Ellen, or someplace else, but YouTube is a good start. I am going to forward this to everyone I know, I am so GD excited!!
Love,
Auntie Jan

Jill:

You are so fabulous! I especially love the "Helen" schtick - maybe because I did the exact same thing at my Bridal showers! You are amazing - love you!

MOH:

I'm pleased that I can still be the fodder for your material...though I protest the implication that I ever used my cell phone in the toilet. I'm too busy squatting over the seat for that.........

Jessica,

I laughed out loud several times. You have a great ability to poke fun at personality types with lightness and jest.

Best of continued luck!

Kristy

Tonya:

You are friggin hilarious... I am sending this link to like everyone I know. The only thing worse than "the squat" is when you are barely 5 feet tall and have barely enough clearance to squat as it is. LOL!!!

Janie:

Oh God, Jess, you are sofa king hilarious. I mean, I knew that already, but you are totally in your element up there. Thank you for saying exactly what I've tried to express in a much less funny way about that friggin' Yaz commercial. I HATE it! (but I love you).

Toni Rae Brotons:

That rocked, Jessica! I will definitely make sure I get to your next gig...

Best,

Toni Rae
